Paws To Claws 5K Saturday
The Paws to Claws 5K sponsored by Van Vickle Insurance Services to benefit the Animal Welfare League will be held this Saturday on the Historic Lawrenceburg Square with registration beginning at 7:30am and the race starting at 9am.
Registration is $25. Children can enjoy a cupcake walk as well as visiting with the Lawrenceburg Fire Department and their trucks.
Visitors can also enjoy baked goods from Shandi Fleeman and $5 Paparazzi Jewelry provided by Terri Davenport.
Misty Jaco Kelley, former owner of Hootieroo & Co, will be on hand with samples of her pet portraits. Just bring a photo of your pet to order one of these original pieces with prices starting at $25. Proceeds will go towards paying vetting expenses for dogs at the Lawrenceburg Pound.
The adoption event will showcase around 50 animals. A large variety of puppies and adult dogs will be available for adoption from the Animal Welfare League.
All of these dogs will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and dewormed. Cats will be available for adoption from Pet Palace - also fully vetted and spay/neutered, dewormed, and vaccinated.
They are tested negative for feline lukemia/HIV.
Animal Control Officer Jeff Lumpkins will also be on hand with some of the dogs from the Lawrenceburg City Pound for adoption.
